Aikido is a Japanese martial art which
develops self-defense and an approach to resolving conflicts
in a calm manner, without kicking or hitting. Through the
practice of Aikido, students improve self-discipline,
self-confidence, and respect for others. In addition to
expanded mental awareness, students also enhance physical
awareness through overall body conditioning
Classes are taught by Sensei Todd Shinto with adult
assistants. He began his Aikido training in Los Angeles at
the age of eight. Todd was promoted in 2007 to
Fukushudoin black belt rank. Between 1999 and 2001 he was an
instructor and uchi deshi (live-in student) for the Aikido
Institute of San Francisco under Gloria Nomura, Shihan
